This family has been making their mezcal since 1795! The brand is El Cortijo, which I am pretty sure cannot be found in the states. But I hope to find it on my next trip to Oaxaca.

John, thanks so much for highlighting this post. I was so blown away by the Pechuga de Pollo mezcalelcortijo produced by El Cortijo that I wrote about it twice. Hope to see you in Oaxaca. And you are correct … Not available in the U.S. but they are working on it.
A pechuga done well is indeed a special treat! I should probably write a post on what pechuga is. Most people barely believe when you tell them!
